Edmond North broadcast students reach new heights
Students from Edmond North High School were recently honored as the recipients of 4 Student Production Awards from the Heartland Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. This year’s award ceremony was presented by KFOR anchors Ali Meyer and Lucas Ross. This marks Edmond Public Schools’ first wins in the competition and the first wins from an Oklahoma high school without selective enrollment. NATAS is best known as the organization behind the Emmy Awards and also hosts a regional and national competition for many categories of student journalism.
The categories won by North include: Solo Storyteller- Chloe Ramsey; Talent (News or Sports)- Violet Iver; Headline News (programs under 10 minutes)- Husky Network Staff; and Magazine Program (programs over 10 minutes)- Husky Network Staff. Most of the students involved in the productions come from North’s Broadcast Journalism class which produces a weekly announcement show called The North Report that informs students about upcoming events and celebrates the people and programs that make North one of the top schools in the state. Chloe Ramsey, an ENHS Junior who serves as the News Director for the North Report had this to say about the awards- “I’m proud of this accomplishment because it showed that all my hard work and dedication had higher meaning. This empowers me to keep on creating and continue using the lessons I’ve learned in Husky Network while working with an amazing staff.”
Since winning the awards from the Heartland Chapter, which represents Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, and Wyoming, the entries will go on to represent the region in the national phase of the competition this fall. Industry professionals and educators will first evaluate which entries should receive nominations at the national level and then select winners from amongst those nominees.
All of the award winning works and more can be seen on the Husky Network YouTube channel.

Important Information for Parents Regarding Utility Bill Submissions
Parents who have submitted their utility bill via the Google Form should be aware of the following:
Upon successful submission, you will receive a confirmation message stating: "Your submission has been received. You will be emailed if there is an issue with your utility bill. Please be sure you have completed the Annual Update & your student has no fines/holds. Checking your email regularly will ensure you are up-to-date on information regarding schedule release in August. Thank you."
This message serves as confirmation that the utility bill information has been received. If there are any issues or additional information required regarding the utility bill, parents will be contacted directly via email.
Please note that if a utility bill is submitted without any issues, individual emails will not be sent to confirm additional steps needed. It is the parent's responsibility to check InTouch for any outstanding fines or fees and Infinite Campus (IC) to ensure the Annual Update is complete.
Parents with issues regarding their utility bill submission are being contacted via email, and notes are being made if other items, such as the Annual Update or outstanding fines/fees, are required.
We hope this clarifies the process and helps answer any questions parents may have about their submissions!
