Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI) and a 20-year Air Force veteran. A married father of two, he grew up in Enid, OK where he was part of the Enid High School AFJROTC program. Lt Col Chown received his commission in 2002 as a Distinguished Graduate of Air Force ROTC after graduating from Oklahoma State University with Bachelor’s Degrees in Physics and Mathematics. He continued his education in the Air Force earning a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University and a Master’s Degree in Flight Test Engineering from Air University. Lt Col Chown served as a B-52H aircraft commander, MQ-9 Instructor/Flight Examiner, Remotely Piloted Aircraft Test Pilot, and acquisitions Materiel Leader. He is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School and is a command pilot with more than 2,200 flying hours in the T-37, T-38, B-52H, and MQ-9. He has flown combat and combat support missions in Operation Enduring Freedom.

A married father of two, he grew up in Rogers, Arkansas, and was stationed in Asia, Central America, and multiple locations in Europe and the United States. His background includes various unit, deployed, and headquarters duties within the Air Traffic Control career field. He also served as a Senior Enlisted Leader at multiple locations. Chief Bowen holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Organizational Management and is working towards his Master’s Degree in Leadership.
