The PSAT is held in the fall each year. This test acts is open to freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors. The PSAT test is a National Merit Qualifying test for all Juniors. Students taking the test their freshmen and sophomore years are gaining experience with the test to hopefully qualify for National Merit their junior year.
The ACT is a nationally standardized exam used primarily to help students qualify for college admittance. The test occurs nationally each year on several dates. The test is comprised of five sections; English, Mathematics, Reading, Science, and Writing.
The ACT is also administered in April of each year by high schools to all junior students. The state test is required for all students to graduate in the state of Oklahoma. The national tests available throughout the year do not meet the state graduation requirement. Juniors MUST take the state test administered through their high school to meet this requirement.
Students are encouraged to create a MyACT account (using a personal email address) to receive and retain access to their scores as well as to be able to send those scores to the universities of their choosing.
The SAT is a nationally standardized exam used primarily to help students qualify for college admittance. The test occurs nationally each year on several dates. The test is comprised of sections testing students in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics.
The SAT is available on specific national testing dates but is not offered formally through Edmond High Schools. Please refer to the SAT website to see a list of calendar dates and to find a testing site.
