Wednesday, November 6, is Edmond North’s PreACT Test Day

ALL sophomores will be taking the PreACT test on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. There is no make-up opportunity for this test.

Information for testing:

  • Students completed a pre-registration in their English classes over the past week. There is nothing else needed to register for this test.

  • Students are assigned to test rooms. Test room rosters are posted by student ID on the counseling office window. Please find your test room location BEFORE WEDNESDAY morning.

  • Students should arrive for the test by 8:00 a.m.  Students will not be admitted after 8:15 a.m.

  • Students who have a 2 - 7 schedule, must arrive by 8:00 on this day for testing and be in their assigned classroom by 8:10.

  • Testing will be completed during 1st – 3rd hours.

  • Any AM Francis Tuttle students will NOT go to Francis Tuttle on this day. Please make arrangements with Francis Tuttle prior to Wednesday. The test will conclude in time for PM Francis Tuttle students to ride the bus to Francis Tuttle.

  • Students who drive and do not typically attend North at this time (VE & Francis Tuttle) will need to park in the East Lot under the water tower.

Items to Bring:

  • Students must have a school ID or driver's license for test check-in 

  • Bring a wooden pencil and eraser (number 2 pencil, you CANNOT use a mechanical pencil)

  • An authorized calculator is optional but is not necessary to complete the math portion of the test. Please review the ACT Calculator Policy for accepted calculators and use.

  • Drinks with a screw top cap and snacks are allowed--but they are NOT allowed during testing— they are allowed only at a break

  • Jacket– the testing rooms may be cool

Items to avoid bringing:

  • Cell phones, smart watches, airpods, and/or additional electronic devices such as a personal laptop—any of these items must be turned off and placed in a backpack at the beginning of testing and will not be able to be accessed until after the test is over.

Prohibited Items:

  • Textbooks, dictionaries in any language, scratch paper, notes, or other study aides

  • Highlighters, colored pens or pencils, correction tape/fluid

  • Reading material

  • Hats of any kind

Benefits of taking the PreACT:

  • After scores are released, students will receive a score report with diagnostics and their original test booklet back.

  • The PreACT is a great practice opportunity for future national and state ACT testing experiences. This is very important for the school administered ACT in the spring of students’ Junior year.

  • PreACT data will be used to help determine coursework readiness and recommendations. Students should put forth their best efforts on the exam to maximize future academic opportunities.
