March Staff Luncheon
This week, the 8th-grade math classes embarked on an epic adventure in Shape Shifters: The 3D Structure Challenge! Students had one week to unleash their creativity and build their very own 3D structures using boxes and cardboard tubes. But it wasn’t just about building – they also had to put on their math hats and figure out the volume and surface area of every piece to calculate the total measurements for their entire creation. It was a week of hands-on fun, problem-solving, and some seriously cool structures!

Mr. Johnson and Mr. Day's 8th-grade history classes have been diving into history and the judicial system in a totally hands-on way! They held the John Brown Mock Trial, where students stepped into the shoes of real-life legal professionals to reenact the trial of the infamous abolitionist, John Brown. From the jury to the judge, bailiff, defense and prosecution lawyers, to the witnesses – every student plays a key role in the drama of this historic courtroom showdown. Over the course of two and a half weeks, they’ not only prepped for their roles but also learned the ins and outs of a criminal trial while tackling the tense Pre-Civil War issues that set the stage for this landmark event. And here's the best part: it’s all unscripted! Lawyers crafted their own arguments, and the jury got to decide the verdict – the power’s in their hands!
