Shonta Watts

I am excited to be a part of the Edmond North High School Counseling Team. I have worked in education for 20 years, and my service in education has been a pleasant and rewarding part of my journey thus far. I enjoy working with and sharing the very important role of mentoring and guiding all of my students towards attaining and achieving their College & Career Goals, as well as, working with them to assure that they are well-balanced Emotionally, Socially, and Academically. As always, I live by my favorite quote:

“Treat other as if they are what they might be, and you will help them to become capable of being.”

Lindsey Williams

Hi! My name is Lindsey Williams and I am excited to be here at Edmond North.  I am originally from New York, born and raised.  I attended SUNY (State University of New York) Cortland for a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and then went on to The College of New Rochelle, where I obtained a Master’s Degree in School Counseling & Guidance. After grad school, I spent about 10 years off and on living on Kauai, Hawaii.  It was on Kauai that I met my husband and both of our beautiful children were born there. My husband, Lucas, is originally from Oklahoma, so in 2014 we decided to move to Oklahoma to be closer to family and where you can’t beat the cost of living and the friendly people.
I always knew I wanted to do something in the school system because I loved the idea of helping students, interacting with parents, and other community members. I’ve worked as a teaching assistant in the special education world while working on my masters degree and that certainly gave me a wealth of knowledge and helpful experiences for Counseling.  I began my career as a School Counselor in 2004. I’ve worked at all different levels, from Middle School to Elementary and mostly High School, as it’s definitely my preferred level.  I love helping students navigate the nuances of high school and I truly enjoy helping students determine their best possible career pathways; explore college majors; seek out scholarship opportunities and ultimately have a solid plan in place after graduation.
For fun, I enjoy reading, cuddling with my Yorkie, traveling, being in nature, spending time with family and friends, and practicing wellness through exercise and nutrition.  I also enjoy watching my kids play competitive soccer and run cross country.
